Job summary

AJW Distribution Ltd, a family-run supplier of roofing, cladding and building materials in Bury St Edmunds, is seeking a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver. Based at the Bury St Edmunds depot, you will deliver orders within the local area, operate a HIAB crane (training provided), perform daily vehicle checks, and ensure all loads are secured and documented to meet high service standards.

The role emphasizes safety, professional conduct, and excellent customer service, with structured hours and a focus

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 Licence required.
• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
• Digital tachograph card holder must be in possession.
• Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to complete paperwork clearly and accurately.
• Positive, professional, and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roofing and cladding materials within the depot delivery area.
• Operate a HIAB crane (training provided if required).
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report issues promptly.
• Ensure loads are checked, signed off, and secured correctly.
• Comply with road traffic laws and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery paperwork.

AJW Distribution Ltd is a family-run, independently owned business supplying roofing, cladding, and building materials to contractors, builders, merchants, and the general public. We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and always going the extra mile to meet our customers' needs.

We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. Based at our Bury St Edmunds depot, you will play a key role in ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and with the high level of service our customers expect.

What will you be doing?

• Deliver roofing and cladding materials within your depot's delivery area
• Operate a HIAB crane (training provided if required)
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
• Ensure all loads are checked, signed off, and secured correctly
• Always comply with road traffic laws and tachograph regulations
• Keep delivery paperwork accurate and up to date
• Wear PPE at all times and maintain high safety standards
• Deliver the correct products to the correct customers, providing excellent service
• Keep your vehicle clean and tidy
• Support yard staff when required

What we’re looking for
