Job Responsibilities
- Carry out a pre-shift driver walk-around vehicle H&S check prior to departure from Depot.
- Load Calor vehicles in line with Calor loading procedures – Bulk or Cylinder.
- Deliver L.P.G. following Calor procedures on single or multi-drop basis to households, factories, farms, hotels, and restaurants using Calor vehicle fleet equipped with digital logistic systems.
- Have excellent knowledge of LPG, its characteristic properties, and dangers.
- Wash, refuel, and check vehicle fleet.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, including cab interior.
- Report accidents or incidents to the depot immediately, including any unsafe or dangerous sites.
- Complete all Near Miss reports as required.
- Produce license for inspection periodically and report any adjustments immediately.
- Adhere to legal requirements of Tacho Driver Hours; be familiar with tachograph regulations regarding driving times, breaks, and digital tachograph card downloads.
- Maintain and process daily paperwork, submitting it at the end of each shift.
- Follow procedures outlined in the driver’s manual and training manual.
- Assist with training other drivers as required.
- Work a flexible schedule, including possible after-hours emergency calls.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Complete minor yard duties as required.
- Always cooperate with and adhere to health and safety processes and procedures.
- Undertake training in new processes, equipment, and technology for continuous development.
- Undertake basic LPG tank inspections and other duties related to tank compliance.
Requirements
- Hold a clean HGV driving license appropriate to the vehicle size (rigid/articulated).
- ADR Certificate in bulk gases and packages or willingness to train towards.
- Up-to-date CPC certification.
- Clean driving record, with ability to provide proof if requested.
- Awareness and knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
- Safety-conscious in driving and handling LPG, including wearing protective clothing and equipment and manual handling techniques.
- Familiarity with tachograph regulations regarding driving times and breaks.
- Flexibility and availability for early and late shifts, e.g., starting as early as 5:00 am or finishing as late as 2:00 pm.
- Positive, flexible attitude to meet customer demands.
- Professional manner in all communications and interactions.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Willingness to embrace change and new technologies.
- Knowledge of mechanics is advantageous.
- Experience in digital logistics is an advantage.
- Good geographical knowledge of Northern and/or Southern Ireland.
- Previous relevant driving experience.
- Customer-focused with a professional approach in dealing with people.
