Location: McQuillan Outdoor, Lisburn

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Overall objectives

We are currently seeking applications for a Sweeper Driver based in Lisburn. The successful candidate will operate and drive a left-handed commercial sweeper vehicle to clean streets, parking lots, and other designated areas. This job is essential for maintaining cleanliness, ensuring road safety, and improving the overall appearance of communities. The individual must have a ‘can do’ attitude in an ever changing fast paced environment, with the ability to work as a valued team member and as an individual.

The job role also requires the candidate to work in all weather conditions and will require the candidate to be open to flexible working hours (suitable PPE to be provided by the employer prior the commencement of the given role).

Essential Criteria

• Valid Category C (Class 2) driver license with CPC and Digi Card in date
• Ability to maintain high level of service in all weather conditions
• Must have a flexible approach to hours of work
• Familiarity with operating commercial driving vehicles is required
• Following all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• Conducting daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and report any maintenance issues
• Must be able and willing to perform routine maintenance on the sweeper vehicle
• Maintaining accurate records of work carried out
• Adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures regarding transportation, safety, and delivery protocol
• Health and Safety awareness is important as is the ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Important to work as a team member and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers, members of the public and other team members effectively
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities that may be required
  
  

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience as a sweeper or similar role preferred
• Familiarity with operating commercial driving vehicles is required
• Familiarity with operating left hand drive vehicles
  
  

Candidates who do not meet the above essential criteria will not be considered. Salary is negotiable depending on experience, immediate starts are available.
