Job summary

Explore Transport Limited is recruiting for a permanent HGV Driver in Avonmouth. You will join a tramping pattern (Mon–Fri) with weekend shifts on a 50–55 hour week, and earning around £57,000 yearly plus allowances.

Basic hourly rate starts at £14.50, rising with service milestones and night rate £15.50 after 18 months and 36 months. Full CPC and tachograph card required; C+E licence essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and C+E licence required.
• CPC and tachograph card valid and up to date.
• Experience with flatbeds and logistics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a HGV on planned tramping shifts (Mon–Fri).
• Deliver goods safely and on time to multiple sites.
• Load/unload and secure cargo per regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate with customers.

We are currently recruiting for drivers to join our team on the following tramping shift pattern - Monday to Friday (Tramping).

Annual salary: Approximately £57,000 a year (based a 50-55 hour working week with 2 additional weekend shifts every 3 weeks, plus driver allowances where applicable)

Hourly Rate: £14.50 basic rate (rising to £15.00 after 18 months and £15.50 after 36 months), £15.50 night rate (hours between 6pm and 6am)

Skills/Knowledge

• Flatbed experience (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret maps and use GPS navigation systems effectively
• Strong organisational and time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
• Load and unload securely and efficiently, ensuring proper securing techniques are applied
• Adhere to all traffic laws, road regulations and road safety standards while operating the vehicle
• Have construction logistics knowledge /experience (preferred)
• Have good communication skills to quickly understand instructions including movement orders and liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
