Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a motivated Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join the Tor Multimix team in Glastonbury. You will deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers and depots, ensuring on-time delivery and accurate paperwork.

Full training is provided, and you will prioritise safety and professional conduct on every shift. The role requires a valid LGV licence, Driver CPC, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification.
• Proven LGV driving experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Flexible to work variable hours, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV vehicles in line with UK road laws and company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report faults or issues.
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment.
• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays, issues or route changes.
• Ensure security of the load during transit and complete delivery logs/timesheets.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally.
• Ensure deliveries comply with legal requirements and Breedon safety standards.
• Be flexible with working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Driver to join our team at Tor Multimix in Glastonbury. The role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are delivered efficiently, in accordance with the law and the best interests of the company and our customers. You will place the highest importance on our sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate LGV vehicles in accordance with UK road laws and company policies
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any faults or issues
• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment
• Deliver concrete, coated asphalt, and aggregates to customers or depots on time, ensuring accurate paperwork and documentation
• Maintain communication with the Distribution Department regarding delays, issues, or route changes
• Ensure security of the load during transit
• Complete delivery logs, timesheets, and any required digital entries accurately
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner
• Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising the health, safety, and environmental standards of Breedon
• Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• A valid Category C or C+E licence and a current Driver CPC qualification
• Proven experience as an LGV driver preferred
• Good knowledge of local road networks and route planning
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• A hard-working and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work variable hours, with the availability for occasional nights and weekends
