Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking an enthusiastic Driver for our Grantham Concrete Plant. The role involves delivering aggregates and concrete across Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, with full training provided.

You will work with the Distribution Team to ensure safe, compliant deliveries and support route optimisation by the Transport Manager. The ideal candidate has a current HGV Class C licence and Driver CPC, strong local knowledge, and a flexible approach to working hours

Qualifications

• Experience of HGV driving with a valid Class C licence and a current Driver CPC.
• Knowledge of the local area and routes around Grantham, Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.
• Flexible approach to work, with availability for nights and weekends when required.
• Full training on Breedon’s products and processes will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and efficiently to deliver materials.
• Liaise with the internal Distribution Team and customers to coordinate deliveries.
• Ensure deliveries meet legal, health, safety and environmental standards.
• Work with the Transport Manager to optimise schedules and routes.
• Maintain a flexible approach to working hours, including nights and weekends.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Driver to join our team at our Gratham Concrete Plant . This role is perfect for someone with a passion for driving and a keen interest in learning more about the construction materials industry. With a focus on delivering our products throughout Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for efficiency, safety, and quality. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, ensuring you're well-prepared to meet our high standard

Key Responsibilities

• Driving safely and efficiently.
• Liaise and build positive relationships with the internal Distribution Team and internal/external customers.
• Ensure all deliveries comply with legal requirements, prioritising the health, safety, and environmental standards of Breedon.
• Work closely with the area Transport Manager to optimise delivery schedules and routes.
• Contribute to the team by maintaining a flexible approach to working hours, including occasional nights and weekends.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will have an energetic “hands on” approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated, hard-working person with a positive attitude. You will have experience of HGV driving and have a valid class C licence and a current driver CPC. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the local area and you will preferably be experienced in delivering aggregates and concrete, although this is not essential as training will be provided. You will be flexible in your approach to work variable hours, with the availability for occasional nights and weekends.
