Job summary

Pertemps Burton Industrial is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver for ongoing shifts based around Irlam, Greater Manchester. You will transport aggregates, soils and demolition materials, including muck-away operations, across sites in the North West.

Ideal candidates hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Tachograph card, with muck-away experience and a strong commitment to safety and on-time deliveries. A modern fleet and regular overtime are on offer.

HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver

Location: Irlam

Job Type: Ongoing, 6am start Monday to Friday, 8 to 10 hour shifts

Salary: £16.12 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Tipper Driver to support our demolition, earthworks, site clearance, and muck‑away operations across Greater Manchester and the North West.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of aggregates, soils, demolition arisings, and excavated materials between project sites, recycling facilities, and disposal locations. Experience in muck‑away operations is essential, with a strong understanding of working on active construction and demolition sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 tipper vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Carry out muck‑away operations, transporting excavated materials from construction, demolition, and earthworks sites.
• Deliver and collect aggregates, soils, hardcore, and demolition materials.
• Support demolition, site clearance, remediation, and earthworks projects across Greater Manchester and the North West.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with company procedures.
• Complete all required transport documentation accurately.
• Ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, and company policies.
• Adhere to all site‑specific health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain a clean, roadworthy, and professional vehicle at all times.

Essential Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Proven experience operating Class 2 tipper vehicles.
• Previous muck‑away driving experience within construction, demolition, or earthworks environments.
• Good knowledge of aggregates, waste streams, and material handling procedures.
• Strong understanding of transport compliance and health & safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
• Flexible and dependable approach to work.

Desirable

• Experience working within demolition, remediation, earthworks, or site clearance sectors.
• MPQC, EPIC, CSCS, or other relevant industry qualifications.
• Knowledge of recycling and waste management facilities across the North West.
