Driver Hire Northampton Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver for a temp-to-perm role in the NN11 area. This position involves driving a tanker, collecting liquid waste, and complying with transport regulations.

You’ll join a well-established waste industry business and develop a long‑term career with a growing team. Benefits include a Monday–Friday pattern, 06:30 start, 45–48 hours weekly, and overtime premiums.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence and Driver CPC required.
• Tachograph card and knowledge of transport rules expected.
• Experience in waste or tanker operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 tanker vehicle and operate pumps.
• Transport liquid waste to customer sites.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and records accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and transport regs.
• Provide professional customer service on site.
• Maintain documentation and waste transfer notes.

HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver (Waste Industry)

Location: NN11

Pay: £17.50 per hour (when permanent) + Overtime Premium

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30am start, finishing between 3:00pm and 5:00pm

Weekly Hours: 45 - 48 hours per week

Contract: Temp to Perm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver to join a well-established business within the waste management industry based in the NN11 area.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for a long-term career with a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving and operating a Class 2 (Category C) tanker vehicle.
• Collecting and transporting liquid waste from customer sites.
• Operating tanker pumps, hoses, and associated equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records and waste transfer documentation.
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and transport legislation.
• Previous tanker or waste industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Excellent customer service skills.
