Job summary

Driver Hire Northampton & Daventry are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver for a waste management business in the NN11 area. This temporary-to-permanent role offers a first 12 weeks at £16.50 per hour and £17.50 per hour on permanent placement, with 45–48 hours weekly.

You will collect and transport liquid waste from commercial, industrial and domestic sites using a Class 2 tanker, perform daily checks, keep records and comply with transport regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and transport legislation.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a Class 2 tanker vehicle.
• Collect and transport liquid waste from customer sites.
• Operate tanker pumps, hoses and related equipment.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and comply with transport regulations.
• Maintain accurate waste transfer documentation.

HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver (Waste Industry)

Location: NN11, commutable from Towcester, Daventry, Banbury, Northampton

Pay: £17.50 per hour (when permanent) + Overtime Premium

Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:30am start, finishing between 3:00pm and 5:00pm

Weekly Hours: 45 - 48 hours per week

Contract: Temp to Perm

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver to join a well-established business within the waste management industry based in the NN11 area.

This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for a long-term career with a growing company.

As a Tanker Driver, you will be responsible for the collection and transportation of liquid waste from commercial, industrial, and domestic customer sites using a Class 2 tanker vehicle. You will operate tanker equipment safely and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving and operating a Class 2 (Category C) tanker vehicle.
• Collecting and transporting liquid waste from customer sites.
• Operating tanker pumps, hoses, and associated equipment.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.
• Maintaining accurate records and waste transfer documentation.
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Providing a professional and courteous service to customers.

Requirements
