Job summary

RSD Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a specialist transport operation to recruit an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver. You will operate HGV Class 2 vehicles with HIAB loader cranes, handling large containers and equipment across the North West and beyond where needed.

The role offers flexible start times, with early starts around 4:00am and standard starts at 7:30am. Weekend overtime is paid at enhanced rates (1.5x Saturday / 2x Sunday).

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• ALLMI HIAB / Lorry Loader qualification required.
• Experience operating HIAB in a commercial setting.
• Experience with containers, generators, fuel tanks or similar loads is desirable.
• Strong load safety and vehicle compliance knowledge.
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles fitted with HIAB loader cranes.
• Safely load, transport and offload large containers and equipment.
• Carry out HIAB operations on customer sites.
• Complete vehicle checks, defect reporting and required paperwork.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
• Work with customers and site teams.
• Support occasional distance work and overnight requirements.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experiencedHGV Class 2 HIAB Driverto join a specialist transport operation working with large containers, generators, fuel tanks and wide loads.

This is a professional and varied role operating specialist vehicles, with the majority of work based across theNorth West (80-90%), with occasional longer-distance work supported by a second driver.

Flexible working options are available, with early starts possible from around 4:00am, although the normal depot start time is 7:30am. Weekend work is available and paid at enhanced rates (1.5x Saturday / 2x Sunday).

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles fitted with HIAB loader cranes.
• Safely load, transport and offload large containers, equipment and specialist loads.
• Carry out HIAB operations on customer sites.
• Complete vehicle checks, defect reporting and required paperwork.
• Ensure all loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
• Work professionally with customers and site teams.
• Support occasional distance work and overnight requirements when required.

About You:

• ValidHGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• ALLMI HIAB / Lorry Loader qualification is essential.
• Previous experience operating HIAB equipment in a commercial environment.
• Experience with containers, generators, fuel tanks, accommodation units or similar heavy loads is desirable.
• Strong understanding of load safety and vehicle compliance.
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently.
