Job summary

The Opportunity Hub UK is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver for Calderdale, Halifax. The role combines driving a refuse collection vehicle with occasional loader duties on a local authority contract.

Mon-Fri with optional weekend shifts, 6am starts, and potential permanency after 12 weeks; applicants must have a valid HGV2, CPC, tachograph card, and be willing to work as loader when required.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum 6 penalty points (no DR endorsements).
• Willingness to work as HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver / Loader.
• PPE: safety boots and hi-vis.

Responsibilities

• Operate a refuse collection vehicle on residential routes.
• Support waste collection operations as a loader when required.
• Complete driving assessment and site induction before starting.
