Job summary

The Best Connection Employment Group is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients in Andover for HGV Class 2 drivers. The role offers a 12-week temp-to-perm opportunity with potential for permanent employment for the right candidate.

Annual salary is £32,250 with overtime paid at time and a half. Working days are Monday to Friday. This is a first-stage temp-to-perm position from day one.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C driving licence is required.
• Digital tachograph card required.
• Proven experience using chains to secure loads.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Strong commitment to safety and professional driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 vehicle, delivering steel products to various locations.
• Secure loads safely using chains and other equipment.
• Carry out pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections, including tyres, fluids, safety equipment and controls.
• Follow delivery schedules and instructions accurately.
• Communicate with transport office, dispatchers and colleagues to ensure deliveries are completed.
• Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
