Job summary

The role runs Monday to Friday with a 4am start. Immediate start. The hourly pay rate is £16.95, reflecting the need for reliable and skilled driving in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Duties

• Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, predominantly with a flatbed configuration, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
• Plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly
• Secure cargo appropriately on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit, ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
• Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, following health and safety protocols

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or traditional maps
• Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage delivery schedules
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required
• Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
