Job description

The Recruitment Crowd is currently recruiting on behalf of our well-known and industry-leading client based in the Washington area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers (CAT C) to join the team.

Hours: Shifts across Monday to Sunday – afters or nights available.

Pay Rate: After - £13.01 per hour rising to £13.71 after 12 weeks / Nights - £14.38 per hour rising to £15.08 after 12 weeks.

Location: Washington, NE37.

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The role:

• Working set shifts with a rota planned in advance – afters or nights.
• Securely moving and transporting palletised parcels to couriers or collecting them from delivery units.
• Handling runs with 4-5 stops, focusing on safe driving and maintaining accurate paperwork.
• Assist with loading and unloading of the vehicle using a tail lift and pump truck, if required.
• Interacting with customers and representing the company professionally and courteously.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
• Valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Willing to undertake a short driving assessment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
