Workchain is seeking an HGV Class 2 Driver to operate daytime daytime routes from Newark. The role is temporary and involves safe driving, pre-use vehicle checks, and timely deliveries for a Newark-based transport operation.

You will follow planned routes, complete necessary documentation, and maintain professional conduct while representing the company on customer sites.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence (Cat C).
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Digital tachograph card needed.
• Safe and responsible driving with load security awareness.
• Good time-management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive an HGV Class 2 vehicle following road safety rules
• Carry out pre-use vehicle checks and report defects
• Complete deliveries within agreed timescales
• Load and unload goods safely where required
• Complete delivery paperwork and confirmations
• Maintain clear communication with transport colleagues and customers
• Follow working time and drivers’ hours regulations

The role offers temporary daytime work for a reliable and safety-conscious driver with the appropriate licence and professional driving qualifications.

The role

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for carrying out deliveries safely and efficiently while representing the business professionally. You will follow planned routes, complete required vehicle and delivery checks, and ensure goods are handled responsibly throughout each journey.

Key responsibilities

• Drive an HGV Class 2 vehicle in line with road safety and legal requirements
• Complete pre-use vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Carry out deliveries accurately and within agreed timescales
• Load, secure and unload goods safely where required
• Complete delivery paperwork and obtain relevant confirmations
• Maintain clear communication with transport colleagues and customers
• Follow working time, drivers’ hours and company procedures

Skills and qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence, also known as Category C
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital tachograph card
• Safe, responsible and considerate driving style
• Good understanding of vehicle checks and load security
• Reliable attendance and a professional approach
• Good communication and time-management skills
• Previous commercial driving or delivery experience is beneficial
