Job summary

Restore Datashred in Gateshead is seeking a Class 2 Driver for secure collections. The role combines professional driving, customer service and on‑site collection work, with a focus on secure disposal of confidential materials across customer sites.

The position is permanent, Mon-Fri, 45 hours per week, with no weekends or night shifts. Salary £36,300.11 plus £500 quarterly bonus, plus Driver CPC training on offer.

Qualifications

• Full UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence (Essential)
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card (Essential)
• Understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations (Essential)
• Ability to handle confidential materials with professionalism and discretion (Essential)

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 vehicle and complete planned collection routes
• Collect confidential documents, paper waste, IT equipment and other secure materials
• Load, move and handle collection bags and containers
• Work across customer sites with occasional stair access
• Use a PDA to record collection details and customer information
• Complete vehicle checks and ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours regulations
• Maintain security and confidentiality of customer materials at all times
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent Restore Datashred professionally

Location: Gateshead, NE10 8YF

Salary: £36,300.11 + £500 Quarterly Bonus

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

• Delivering excellent customer service and representing Restore Datashred professionally

About you:

• Full UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence (Essential)
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card (Essential)
• Understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time regulations (Essential)
• Someone who enjoys an active role and is comfortable with manual handling activities throughout the day (Essential)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and manage daily routes effectively
• Reliable, organised and committed to safe working practices
• Ability to handle confidential materials with professionalism and discretion effectively (Essential)

Please note: This is an active role that includes regular lifting and moving of collection sacks and containers throughout the working day. Training and equipment will be provided to support safe manual handling practices.
