Aligra Personnel Ltd in Guildford is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 driver for afternoon and night shifts with a leading parcel distributor. You will operate night routes between regional hubs, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient loading.

The role offers predictable schedules, enhanced weekend rates, overtime pay, and bank holiday premiums, with a starting rate of £18.15 per hour rising after 12 weeks. You will need a clean HGV1 licence and at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar heavy goods driving role.
• Ability to work night shifts consistently and reliably.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for managing freight and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude.

Responsabilités

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently on scheduled night-time routes.
• Follow detailed routing and scheduling to ensure timely parcel delivery and collection between hubs.
• Manage loading, securing, and occasional unloading of freight including pallets, cages, and containers.
• Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and complete defect reports as required.
• Handle shipment paperwork, scan consignments accurately, and maintain communication with dispatch teams.
• Adhere to all relevant road safety and company policies to ensure compliance and safety.
