The ideal candidate will have curtainsider and flatbed experience, a strong safety focus, and a commitment to excellent service. The company operates a modern Volvo FH fleet and maintains high vehicle standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial driving, especially curtainsider/flatbed.
• Strong knowledge of road safety and logistics best practices.
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
• Good verbal and written communication; flexible hours including nights away.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 vehicles for goods transport across routes.
• Ensure timely deliveries following road safety regulations.
• Carry out pre-journey vehicle checks.
• Load and unload cargo; secure loads properly.
• Maintain delivery records including mileage.
• Communicate with dispatch about schedules and issues.
• Represent Armitage Haulage professionally with customers.

Armitage Haulage International Ltd a family run company is seeking a dedicated and skilled Class 1 Tramper driver for a permanent position. This role involves Monday to Friday with 4 nights delivering goods across various locations of the UK while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial driving experience, particularly with curtainsided & flatbed trailers, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent service.

Armitage haulage runs a modern fleet of Volvo FH tractor units fully kitted with fridge microwave & inverter. All trucks are kept to a very high standard.

Guaranteed salary Monday to Friday with the option to work Saturday or Sunday if desired.

Duties

• Operate Class 1 vehicles for the transportation of goods across designated routes.
• Ensure timely delivery of products while adhering to all road safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe to operate.
• Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper securing of loads on vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
• Uphold the company's standards for customer service, representing Armitage Haulage Ltd professionally at all times.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles, particularly with curtainsider and flatbed vehicles.
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in logistics.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
