Job summary

Pure Staff is recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver based in Hereford, working on nationwide deliveries of alcoholic beverages. The role offers ongoing work with excellent pay rates and the chance to join a respected transport operation.

Typical duties include delivering palletised products, completing PODs, and ensuring loads are secured. Shift patterns run Mon-Sun with early starts and 4–5 nights out per week. Rolled-up holiday pay options are available.

Responsibilities

• Deliver palletised alcoholic beverage products to RDCs, wholesalers and depots across the UK
• Complete deliveries to distribution hubs and customer depots
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure loads are secured correctly
• Complete PODs and delivery paperwork accurately
• Adhere to driver hours and working time regulations
• Maintain a professional image whilst representing the business
• Minimal physical work as most loads are forklift loaded/unloaded

Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver to work with one of our long-standing clients based in the Hereford area. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver looking for ongoing work, excellent rates of pay and the opportunity to work with a highly respected transport operation.

Our client is a leading UK transport and logistics business, providing nationwide distribution solutions across multiple sectors and operating one of the country's most recognised transport networks.

Pay Rates

PAYE

• Monday to Friday: £17.50 per hour
• Saturday: £19.25 per hour
• Sunday / Bank Holiday: £21.00 per hour

PAYE with Rolled-Up Holiday Pay

• Monday to Friday: £19.61 per hour
• Saturday: £21.57 per hour
• Sunday / Bank Holiday: £23.53 per hour

Rolled-up holiday pay is available as an optional payment arrangement, allowing drivers to receive their holiday entitlement within their hourly rate.

The Role

As a HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver, you will be completing nationwide deliveries of alcoholic beverages to RDCs, wholesalers and customer depots across the UK.

Typical duties include:

• Delivering palletised alcoholic beverage products
• Completing deliveries to RDCs, distribution hubs and customer depots
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Ensuring loads are secured correctly
• Completing PODs and delivery paperwork accurately
• Following driver hours and working time regulations
• Maintaining a professional image whilst representing the business

Most loads are forklift loaded and unloaded, meaning there is minimal physical work involved.

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Sunday operation
• Typical start times between 05:00 and 08:00
• Average shifts of 8-10 hours
• 4-5 nights out per week
• Ongoing assignments available

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver role, you will require:

• Full UK Category C+E Licence
• Valid CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of driver hours legislation
• Previous tramping experience preferred
• Professional and reliable approach to work
• Ability to work independently whilst away from home
