Job summary

Synergyx Freight Ltd is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 tramping drivers to join our expanding fleet. The role is based in Liverpool, with shift start and finish there, and involves long-haul UK deliveries with nights away.

You will drive a modern fleet, perform basic checks, and follow safety rules and rest-break regulations. We offer a competitive package including £48,880 per year, monthly PAYE, auto-enrolment pension, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 license (C+E) to operate articulated vehicles.
• English language ability preferred for clear communication.
• UK right to work and eligibility.
• Pre-employment screening including drug and alcohol tests.

Responsibilities

• Long-haul UK deliveries with nights away in vehicle.
• Bay-to-bay deliveries with no manual handling required.
• Navigate and plan journeys; maintain basic vehicle checks.
• Adhere to rest breaks, driving hours, and safety policies.
• Report issues promptly; use SNAP accounts and fuel cards.
• 5 consecutive tramping shifts (Sun–Fri) with some weekends.

What You’ll Do:

• Long-haul driving: You will be delivering freight across the UK, often spending nights away in your vehicle.
• Bay-to-bay delivery only, with no manual handling: All deliveries are drop-and-go (bay-to-bay), meaning you won’t be lifting goods.
• Drive a modern, well-maintained modern fleet, you should also be confident in basic navigation and journey planning.
• Follow all road safety rules and company policies, including rest breaks and driving hours.
• Carry out daily checks and report any issues – we pride ourselves on running a reliable, safe fleet.
• Use of SNAP accounts and fuel cards for ease on the road
• Consistent work with 5 consecutive tramping shifts Sun-Fri.

Requirements:

• Full UK C+E License (Class 1): You must hold a valid Class 1 license to operate articulated vehicles.
• We welcome both experienced and newly qualified HGV drivers.
• Clean license preferred: We accept up to 6 points, but no serious endorsements such as TT (disqualification), DR (drink driving), or IN (insurance offences).
• Fluency in English Language (preferred)
• UK road law knowledge: Understanding the Highway Code, rest break rules, and HGV-specific regulations.
• Right to work in the UK: You must have valid documents confirming your eligibility.
• Safety first – all drivers must pass pre-employment screening (drug and alcohol test, background check).

Schedule

• Day and night shifts
• 5 days per week, including some weekends
• Overnight tramping required
