Job summary

Surecall Recruitment is seeking HGV Class 1 Tramper drivers for the Peterborough area to transport food produce across multiple locations. Shifts include 10–14 hours with 6 days on/3 days off, 4 days on/4 days off, or 6 on/1 off/6 on/5 off, starting 04:00–09:00. Temp-to-perm after 3 months with hourly pay £19.31–£20.44 plus £26 subsistence.

Positions operate from Wisbech and Greetham sites. Candidates must hold a valid HGV1 licence, CPC/Tacho, and have good time management and independence with

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles for long-haul transport.
• Ensure secure loading/unloading following safety protocols.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs as per guidelines.
• Communicate delivery schedules with dispatch and clients.

Join Our Team as an HGV Class 1 Tramper!

A well-established agricultural food producer located in rural Peterborough is seeking enthusiastic and skilled HGV Class 1 Tramper drivers to transport food produce safely and efficiently across various locations.

• 6 days on 3 days off
• 4 days on 4 days off
• 6 on 1 off 6 on 5 off
• 04:00AM-09:00AM start times
• Shifts between 10-14 hrs
• Day shifts

Work starting out of both sites in Wisbech and Greetham.

The tramping roles are offered on a temp-to-perm basis - becoming permanent after a short 3 month period.

Initially you will be paid between £19.31 to £20.44 per hour plus £26.00 n/o subsistence payment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles (mainly flatbed lorries) for long‑haul transport.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cargo while following safety protocols.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs in accordance with company guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients about delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence with a clean record and up to date CPC and Tacho card
• No more than 6 points on licence
• Strong understanding of delivery responsibilities and logistics.
• Excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work varied hours.
