GRS Group is seeking a motivated driver to operate LGV/HGV vehicles from Tyttenhanger, delivering goods efficiently while upholding safety and customer service standards.

You will join a close-knit team with regular day hours, full training, and a pension plan. Starting from our Hertfordshire site, the role offers overtime opportunities and generous holiday provisions.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 license and valid Tachograph card required.
• CPC card and ongoing compliance responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle safety and condition at the start of each day and record results.
• Care for company assets and ensure proper long-term use.
• Ensure vehicle is securely loaded and weights are within limits.
• Drive efficiently and in accordance with road rules.
• Maintain health and safety for self and others on the road and at customer sites.
• Represent the company professionally on the road and at customers' premises.
• Assist in yard duties when not driving and complete reports accurately.
• Contribute to the wellbeing and profitability of the business.
• Discharge HR and Health & Safety duties to promote a safe workplace.

Job description

Job Purpose

To drive LGV/HGV vehicles and deliver goods and services as required. To drive company delivery vehicles and deliver its goods to customers efficiently and considerately whilst ensuring the health and safety of self, the public and other road users. To ensure the good maintenance and operation of the company's assets and to provide excellent service to customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities,

• To check the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and to record its condition using the system provided and to promptly report any faults as they occur.
• To care for the company's assets whilst in his/her charge and ensure they are used according to manufacturer's recommendations ensuring effective long-term performance.
• To ensure the vehicle is securely loaded and restrained and that the vehicle weights are within the legally permitted limits.
• To drive as efficiently and productively as possible but to do so within the prevailing road traffic law.
• To give due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
• To represent the company both on the road and at the customers' premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and to report promptly any matters likely to affect the company's business prospects.
• To assist in yard and other duties as may be required when not driving or taking legally required breaks.
• To complete reports and documentations to time and as accurately as possible to assist in the management of the business.
• To contribute to the wellbeing and profitability of the business as far as it depends upon him/her.
• Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.

Requirements For Role,

• Training on site on the day.
• HGV Class 1 License.
• Drivers CPC Card.
• Valid Tachograph Card.
