Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a well-established client at their Essex depot for experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for ongoing store delivery work. Temp to Perm opportunities are available and ad-hoc shifts may be offered across 05:00–17:00 starts.

Roles include 24/7 operation with day and night shifts, and overtime after 45 hours. Successful candidates will handle pallets and roller cages using tail lifts and pump trucks to complete deliveries safely and on time.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Willingness to drive Class 2 (CAT C) as required.
• Minimum 3 months' physical HGV driving experience.
• Maximum 6 points for minor offences only.
• Valid CPC and Digi Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and regulations.
• Comfortable with manual handling including pallets and roller cages.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Store delivery work involving pallets and roller cages.
• Manage up to 8 drops per day across runs.
• Operate tail lifts and pump trucks to complete deliveries.
• Move and manoeuvre roller cages safely and efficiently.
• Ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established client based at their Essex depot. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join the team for ongoing store delivery work, with Temp to Perm opportunities available.

Pay Rates:

• Monday – Friday Days: £21.00 per hour
• Monday – Friday Nights: £22.49 per hour
• Saturday Days: £22.56 per hour
• Saturday Nights: £25.49 per hour
• Sunday Days: £22.56 per hour
• Sunday Nights: £25.49 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £29.34 per hour
• Overtime (after 45 hours): £29.34 per hour

Shift Patterns & Start Times:

• 24/7 operation across Monday to Sunday.
• Day and night shifts available.
• Current Temp to Perm positions cover start times between 05:00 and 17:00.
• Temp to Perm rota opportunities available.
• Ad-hoc work also available.
• Overtime rate applicable after 45 hours.

The Role:

• Store delivery work involving pallets and roller cages.
• Drivers must hold a Class 1 (C+E) licence but will be required to undertake Class 2 (CAT C) work.
• Up to 8 drops per day.
• Runs can consist of up to 4 drops, typically completed across 2 runs, or 1 run followed by separate deliveries and collections.
• Using tail lifts and pump trucks to complete deliveries.
• Moving and manoeuvring roller cages.
• This is a physically demanding role and drivers must be comfortable with manual work.
• Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Must be comfortable and willing to drive Class 2 (CAT C) vehicles as required.
• Minimum 3 months' physical HGV driving experience.

Assessment Process:

• All drivers will complete an onsite assessment before starting.
• Assessment includes relevant paperwork followed by a road drive.
• Successful drivers can select from the available Temp to Perm runs on the rota, with current start times ranging from 05:00 to 17:00.
• Alternatively, drivers can choose to work on an ad-hoc basis.
• Full details of available shifts and runs will be discussed following a successful assessment.
