Job summary

DBR Group Ltd is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to work from our Rochdale depot in Manchester. The role involves nightly trunk deliveries across the UK using a modern 44T vehicle and curtain sider trailers, with full training provided.

This temporary-to-permanent position offers agency-based employment with start times from 17:30 to 20:00, and a rate of £17.00 per hour. You will need a valid HGV licence, CPC, and ideally ADR; two years of driving and coupling/uncoupling

Qualifications

• Valid, current HGV licence with Driver CPC; ADR certificate preferred.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience; coupling/uncoupling essential.
• Curtain sider vehicle experience and pallet handling experience.
• Knowledge of tachographs and driving hours regulations.
• Good communication skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Nightly trunk deliveries within the UK.
• Deliver/collect palletised goods to depots and Palletline sites from Rochdale Depot.
• Adhere to road traffic laws and tachograph compliance.
• Full training will be provided.
• Maintain a smart appearance and professional conduct.

This role is a temporary to permanent position.

Duties:

• Operate a Class 1 vehicle safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all road traffic laws and regulations
• Nightly Trunk deliveries within the UK
• Delivering/collecting palletised goods to other depots and Palletline sites, from our Depot in Rochdale driving a modern 44T ton vehicle, Double Deck trailers, box and curtain sider trailers
• Smart appearance, willing to learn and be trained up
• Full training will be provided
• Excellent tacho knowledge ref sound manual entry and driving hours compliance

Requirements:

• You must have a valid, current HGV licence, a drivers CPC, and ideally ADR driver certificate
• Minimum 2 years driving experience
• Coupling Uncoupling experience is essential
• Curtain sided vehicle experience
• Pallet work experience
• UK road network essential
• Previous driving experience essential
• A good solid awareness of the law relating to driver's hours regulations and tachographs in order to be considered for this position
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and extremely reliable
• You will have good communication skills, both customer and office and able to work using own initiative
• Awareness of Health & Safety

Hours:

Monday to Friday, with start times from 17:30 20:00

Remuneration:

£17.00 per hour
