Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for our Cannock site to support General Haulage, delivering to Distribution Centres and Stores across the region.

Full-time roles with varied shift patterns including Nights; pay rates range from £14.60 to £18.41 per hour plus meal and night-out allowances, with extensive on-site training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence and ideally minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers).
• CPC & Tachograph training and cards.
• Understand and comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Occasional store deliveries; load/unload cages.
• Complete vehicle checks and documentation.

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our Cannock site to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and we have a variety of shift patterns including Nights (between 20:00 - 23:00 starts). Ideal shift patterns are below:

• Tuesday to Saturday
• Sunday to Thursday
• Friday to Tuesday
• Saturday to Wednesday

We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don’t quite suit your availability, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Pay Rates

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £14.60 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Night Shift - £15.80 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.10 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax-free allowance (if applicable).

Driver Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
