Job summary

Stobart (Part of the Culina Group) is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for the Tesco Distribution Centre in Doncaster to support general haulage operations across the region. The roles are full-time and permanent, with shifts typically starting between 13:00 and 23:00.

Weekend work may be required according to business demand. Pay rates range from £16.35 to £18.96 per hour depending on shift, plus a tax-free meal allowance of £5 per shift and £25 per night out.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence and DCPC & Tachograph cards held and up to date.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Understand and comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Ability to carry out vehicle checks and report defects.
• Excellent communication skills and on-site safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Assist with loading/unloading cages and occasional store deliveries.
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
• Complete all vehicle checks and documentation accurately.
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance and professionalism.

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at the Tesco Distribution Centre in Doncaster to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis.

Shifts typically start between 13:00 and 23:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don’t quite suit your availability, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Weekend working may be required in line with business demand.

Pay Rates

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £16.35 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Nights - £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Nights - £18.65 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax-free allowance

Driver Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• This role can involve manual handling, drop and swaps and general trunking
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We Will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
