Job summary

Montgomery Transport Group in Preston, United Kingdom, is hiring for a Class 1 (C+E) driver on fixed day shifts Friday to Monday. You will deliver a wide range of goods, follow routes, and provide excellent customer service while complying with all regulations.

You will operate a modern fleet, complete daily vehicle checks, and stay local with no overnight trips. The role offers 28 days holiday and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) licence with CPC and Digi card.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no DND convictions.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 (C+E) driving experience.
• Good geographical knowledge and reliable work ethic.
• Experience completing vehicle checks and paperwork.

• Transport and deliver a wide range of goods to customers efficiently and on time.
• Follow delivery routes and communicate location and ETA clearly.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
• Drive company vehicles safely and in compliance with road regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections and complete documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles inside and out.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and site policies.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Transport and deliver a wide range of goods to customers efficiently and on time.
• Follow assigned delivery routes and communicate your location and estimated arrival times clearly.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Drive company vehicles safely, responsibly, and in compliance with road regulations
• Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections, ensuring all relevant documentation is accurately completed.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, both inside and out.
• Fixed day shifts with consistent work and planning.
• Home at the end of each shift - no tramping or nights out.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations, as well as relevant legislation and site-specific policies.

Ideal Candidate:

• Class 1 (C+E) licence holders with a valid CPC and Digi card
• No more than 6 points and NO DND.
• Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience (due to insurance)
• Reliable drivers who take pride in their work and keep things moving
• Flexibility to support the operation when required
• You must have previous commercial driving experience and good geographical knowledge.
• Experience of fully completing vehicle check in and checkout sheets.
