Job summary

Ford & Slater is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant to join our team. The role combines driving and workshop duties across Leicestershire, with occasional longer trips to other Ford & Slater sites.

The position offers in-house training and development opportunities, plus a competitive hourly rate. You will need a valid UK Class 1 licence and strong customer service skills; PC literacy is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence.
• Customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• PC literate; mechanical knowledge is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Collection/delivery of vehicles from/to customers within Leicestershire and surrounding areas, with some longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• General workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

The HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• This is a duel role - Collection / delivery of vehicles from / to customers within Leicestershire and the surrounding areas. Ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• General Workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

Who are we looking for as our HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant:

• You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
• Be a customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• Any mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
• PC Literate.

Shift pattern: Alternate weeks, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 / 10:30 - 19:00 (with a 30 minute unpaid break each shift)
