Job summary

SGM Recruitment is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for ongoing refrigerated store delivery work supporting the Aldi distribution operation across Bardon. We welcome applications from experienced Class 1 drivers seeking day or night shifts, with full-time, part-time and occasional availability considered.

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will operate refrigerated trailers delivering to Aldi stores across the Midlands.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Cat C+E driving license.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least six months of Class 1 driving experience.
• Confidence reversing and manoeuvring articulated vehicles.
• Attention to vehicle checks, paperwork and temperature procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver refrigerated loads to Aldi stores across the Midlands.
• Load/unload with driver involvement; follow site procedures.
• Complete temperature checks and relevant delivery paperwork.
• Work shifts of 10–12 hours; day or night availability discussed during recruitment.

HGV Class 1 Driver – Days & Nights – Bardon

SGM Recruitment is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers for ongoing refrigerated store delivery work supporting the Aldi distribution operation across Bardon.

We welcome applications from experienced Class 1 drivers seeking day or night shifts, with full-time, part-time and occasional availability considered.

Locations

• Bardon / Coalville, Leicestershire, LE67 1GY.

The work

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will operate refrigerated trailers delivering to Aldi stores across the Midlands. This is regional store delivery work with relatively low mileage.

Shifts typically last around 10–12 hours, although finishing times vary depending on the workload and operational requirements. A significant part of the shift involves time at distribution centres and stores during loading and unloading, rather than driving alone.

Aldi staff carry out most loading and unloading, although some driver involvement is required. Drivers must follow site procedures and complete the relevant delivery and temperature checks.

Shift availability

Day-shift start times generally range from 03:00 to 12:00. Night-shift start times generally range from 14:00 to 23:00.

Your preferred working days, start times and depot will be discussed during recruitment. Weekly pay and ongoing agency work are available, with the applicable pay rate and assignment details agreed before starting.

Requirements

• A valid UK Category C+E driving licence.
• A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.

• A reliable, professional approach and attention to vehicle checks, paperwork and temperature procedures.

Induction

Drivers will complete an Aldi induction covering site procedures, loading and unloading processes, and temperature checks. Successful candidates will then complete accompanied shifts before working independently.
