Job summary

Lineage Logistics is seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver for our Gillingham depot. We are a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, focusing on safe, compliant multi-drop deliveries and efficient operations.

Shift pattern: Monday–Friday days. Hourly rate: £16.19 per hour up to 39 hours weekly with overtime at time and a half. This permanent role includes onsite parking and wellbeing support within a proactive, award‑winning team.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience
• Valid Class 1 license
• Digi-Tacho and Driver CPC qualifications (DQC)
• Knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations
• Comfortable with night shifts
• Excellent communication skills and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Support Transport Managers to keep operations running smoothly.
• Ensure vehicle is legal and roadworthy; complete daily checks.
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
• Operate tail lift and PPT when required.
• Maintain tachograph compliance and driver hours.

We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team located at our Gillingham depot.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday working on Days

Hourly Rate: £16.19 per hour for all hours worked up to 39 hours each week.

Overtime after 39 hours worked each week, is paid at time and a half.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.
• Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check Sheet’ and in line with the 'Guide to maintaining road worthiness'. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
• Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs.
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
• Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.
• Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.
• Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.
• Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport Manager's attention if necessary.
• To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period.

What are we looking for?

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license.
• Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.
• Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations and someone who is comfortable with working night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Numerical, and focused on accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to operate tail lift and PPT when required.
