Job summary

CML, part of Culina Group, is recruiting for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join the Lutterworth operation. This permanent, full-time role offers a regular 4 on 4 off shift pattern and a supportive transport team where safe driving and high standards are valued daily.

Shifts include nights and days with flexible start times; options include early mornings, daytime, late evenings and weekend coverage. OTE earnings up to £44,144 depending on pattern, overtime and allowances.

Qualifications

• Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence and DCPC.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class 1.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Adaptable and methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• The role includes RDC deliveries.
• AM Start Times involve physical duties such as using pump trucks to unload chilled pallets.
• Load and unload where required, including bread baskets, trolleys and empty basket returns on some routes.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery & collection point
• Report any issues with delivery or collection arrival times, delays, or load discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
• Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services
• Any other duties as reasonably required
• Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business
