Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support its transport and logistics operations in Yate. This daytime trunking role requires safe, efficient deliveries and a professional approach.

You will complete vehicle checks, manage loading and paperwork, and communicate with the transport team and customers. The position offers day shifts and weekly pay, with a £18 per hour rate.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 licence is essential.
• Proven trunking experience in a transport role.
• Solid knowledge of safe loading and load security.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and road safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently and manage duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Complete trunking work safely and efficiently.

The company operates in the pallet supply and recycling sector, providing wooden, plastic, refurbished and bespoke pallets alongside collection and recycling services. It also produces recycled wood products and supports deliveries and collections across regional areas from its South Gloucestershire base.

Key responsibilities

• Complete trunking work safely and efficiently


• Carry out vehicle checks before and after journeys


• Transport loads in line with delivery schedules and instructions


• Secure loads correctly and follow relevant transport and road safety requirements


• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records


• Communicate professionally with the transport team and customers where required


• Report any vehicle, load or delivery issues promptly

Skills and qualifications
