Job summary

Sure Call Recruitment & AFE Recruitment is seeking drivers for HGV Class 1 tramper roles based in Peterborough. Start times between 04:00 and 09:00, with 10–14 hour shifts from Greetham and Whittlesey sites. Role involves long-haul routes, secure loading, and strict safety adherence.

Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class 1 licence with CPC and tachograph, have ≤6 points, and be capable of independent work with strong time management. Nights out subsistence paid top-up available.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles (flatbeds) for long-haul transport.

• Maintain accurate delivery logs per company guidelines.
• Communicate delivery times with dispatch and clients.

HGV Class 1 Driver - TRAMPER

Join Our Team as an HGV Class 1 Tramper!

A well-established agricultural food producer located in rural Peterborough is seeking enthusiastic and skilled HGV Class 1 Tramper drivers to transport food produce safely and efficiently across various locations.

• Pay rate: £19.31 to £20.44 per hour plus £26.00 night out subsistence payment.
• 4 + Months on Class 1 licence/ experience required
• 04:00AM-09:00AM start times
• Shifts between 10-14 hrs
• Day shifts
• Work starting out of both sites in Whittlesey and Greetham.

Rota's available

• Greetham - 5 on 5 off / 6 on 6 off
• Whittlesey - 4 on 4 off / 6 on 1 off 6 on 5 off

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles (mainly flatbed lorries) for long-haul transport.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cargo while following safety protocols.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs in accordance with company guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients about delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence with a clean record and up to date CPC and Tacho card
• No more than 6 points on licence
• Strong understanding of delivery responsibilities and logistics.
• Excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work varied hours.
