Job summary

Great Bear Mansfield is hiring a Class 1 Driver for a full‑time, permanent position at our Mansfield site. Shifts are varied, with patterns across five days from seven, typically starting between 02:00 and 07:00.

The role involves delivering to customer premises and maintaining strict safety and paperwork standards. You will be responsible for vehicle checks, tachograph compliance, and working to Road Transport Directive hours, while upholding high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Recent Class 1 Driver licence with at least 1 year experience.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and drivers’ hours.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete paperwork accurately and on time.
• Adhere to health, safety and hygiene policies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of transport operations.
• Keep professional appearance and behaviour.
• Manage working time in line with regulations.
• Follow tachograph rules at all times.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks, including temperature checks.
• Make deliveries to customer premises professionally.

We are now looking for Class 1 Drivers to join our Team at Great Bear Mansfield on a Full time and permanent position.

Shift: The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and we have a variety of shift patterns available working any 5 from 7 days (between 02:00 - 07:00 starts).

Salary: £15.36 per hour.

• Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
• Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
• Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance
• Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
• Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
• Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedureResponsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks
• Make deliveries to customers’ premises, acting in a professional manner at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum of recent Class 1 Driver - 1 year is essential for this position.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
