Job summary

Great Bear, part of Culina Group, is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for our Worksop site on a permanent, full-time basis. The role involves safe deliveries to customer premises and palletised haulage to regional centres nationwide, with most runs as backdoor tip.

Shifts are Mon–Fri Nights with a 14:00–19:00 window and weekend flexibility. £16.91/hour including £1.75 night allowance; 5 from 7 patterns; opportunities for night-out and various start times.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• No more than 6 points on licence and no DD/DR convictions.
• Current valid DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver’s Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete palletised general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional Night out may be required.
• Report to Transport team at start of shift and communicate delays or issues promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and obtain PODs signed and returned to Transport Office.
• Follow company rules including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage working time in line with Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for unit/trailer and temperature checks where required.
• Maintain high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service.

We're looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Great Bear team at our site in Worksop, This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time driving role with a 24/7 operation, delivering goods to Regional Distribution Centres nationwide.

Shift patterns available:

• Monday to Friday Nights (Start times between 14:00 - 19:00, ideal start time around 15:00)

Our Shift patterns are working any 5 from 7 and we offer flexibility in shift patterns and start times so if you are looking for weekend work or different start times, let us know what you’re looking for, we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Salary: £16.91 per hour (this includes a £1.75 per hour Night Shift allowance)

What you'll be doing

• Complete daily vehicle checks in line with company procedure and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

• Valid C+E Licence.
• 6 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
