Job summary

A temporary/ongoing HGV Class 1 Driver role based in Stoke on Trent. You will deliver timber to Wickes stores and Builders Merchants with curtainside trailers, with early morning day runs and evening night runs. Strapping loads is required and sites handle loading/unloading.

Shifts start early for day drivers (04:00–08:00) and evenings for night drivers (17:00–19:00). Minimum 8 hours pay per shift and a driver assessment are required.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Maximum 6 penalty points (no DR, DG, DD codes – none active or expired)
• Minimum 6 months licence holding
• Minimum 3 months driving experience

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for timber delivery work. This role involves delivering timber products to Wickes stores & Builders Merchants

Shifts are available across AM and PM operations

Day Drivers

• Delivery to Wickes Stores and Builders Merchants.
• Start time from 04.00am – 8.00am Monday to Friday
• Strapping of loads
• No loading or unloading – all done by the stores
• All curtainside trailers

Night Drivers

• Collections from RMS Hull and BSW Melton
• Delivering product back into BSW Stoke
• Strapping of loads
• No loading or unloading (all done by the sites).
• Start times: 17.00 – 19.00hrs Sunday to Thursday
• All curtainside trailers

Minimum 8 hours guaranteed pay per shift

• 45-minute deduction for Tacho vehicles
• Completion of driver assessment required

Driver Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence

Pay Structure

• Day drivers - £17.69 per hour
