Job summary

Culina in Haverhill is hiring professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to support our Chilled operation, delivering to key retail customers across the UK. The role offers full-time stability with a mix of day and night shifts, including some weekend work.

You’ll join a supportive transport team focused on safe driving, dependable delivery standards and excellent customer service. Eligible drivers should hold a valid C+E licence, DCPC and Tachograph cards, and be prepared for nationwide routes.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence is required for driving heavy goods across the UK.
• Current DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards must be held.
• New pass drivers will be considered for the role.
• No more than 6 points on your licence with no DD/DR convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres.
• Support trunking operations and night shifts as required.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and ensure PODs are signed and returned.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene standards and report delays or issues.

Job Description

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Culina team in Haverhill, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Various day shift and night shift available inclusive of some weekend work

• £42,205.68 per annum (5 on 3 off)

Shift Premiums: Should your start time fall within the below time slots you will receive a shift premium of:

Please note: role involves planned and occasional unplanned night outs.

Overtime Rates:

• Monday to Friday: £17.24/hr

Additional Earnings:

• Driver duty premium (11+ hour shifts)
• Performance bonus
• Night out allowance: £25 per night
• Shift allowances (where applicable)

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres
• Drivers interested in Night shift will predominately be supporting our trunking operation to Culina Sites
• No Cage work or Tipping
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Current valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• We will consider new pass drivers!
• No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR code convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.

• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
