Job summary

TRC Yorkshire is seeking drivers in London and surrounding areas to perform depot-to-hub trailer movements and customer-site deliveries. You will work across multiple locations including London Docklands and other listed sites with shifts starting from midday to early evening.

Role requires a full UK licence (C+E), 6+ months experience, and valid tachograph/ DCPC. Expect night-rate pay, weekly pay, and a strong safety-first culture with ongoing induction and support from a proactive operations

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E)
• 6+ months of proven driving experience
• Valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points on licence; no infringement points for 3 consecutive months
• Flexibility to work shifts across Mon-Sun; start times 12:00–21:00; all paid at night rate
• Understanding of WTD legislation
• Excellent communication skills
• Safety-first mindset

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull and fill the back of a trailer at the depot and transport to a hub.
• Engage in customer work: take vehicle to customer to collect trailer, deliver to hub, return to depot.
• Assist with loading/unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, tail lift use, and occasional uncoupling of vehicles.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off tacho card download prior to position.
• Attend on-site induction for the first shift.

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc)

Hours

Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required)

Pay Rate

• Midweek - £19.71 per hour rising to £20.71 after 12 weeks
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks

The role

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
