Job summary

Fowler Welch is seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Westerleigh transport team in Bristol, supporting our Meat Processing and packaging operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This permanent, full-time role requires safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards, with Monday to Friday shifts starting at 05:00. You will perform vehicle checks, sign PODs and contribute to fuel efficiency targets.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid C+E licence.
• DCPC & Tacho cards required.
• New pass drivers considered.
• Understand Driver Hours and WTD legislation.

Responsibilities

• Deliveries to RDCs, farms and packhouse across the UK.
• Complete paperwork accurately and promptly (PODs).
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Drive safely to meet fuel efficiency targets and Company standards.

This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You'll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.Shift Patterns-Monday to Friday 05:00 StartsSalary- From £13.43 - £22.83 per hour depending on shift times.Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperworkObserve and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygieneMaintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport
departmentEffectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport DirectiveAdhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all timesEnsure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedureResponsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checksEnsure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after deliveryAchieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the businessAny other duties as reasonably requiredJob requirementsYou should hold a valid C+E LicencePrevious Class 1 Driving Experience is advantageous however we will consider New Pass DriversNo more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.Excellent communication skills.TPBN1_UKTJ
