Job summary

Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers for our Carlisle depot to support general haulage, delivering to RDCs, distribution centres and retail stores. This role suits drivers who take pride in safe driving and dependable delivery standards.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, comply with drivers' hours and tachograph rules, and work with the Transport Team to ensure efficient service. A valid C+E licence with up to 6 points and DCPC/Tacho are required.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence and at least 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR convictions.
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Understand drivers' hours and WTD legislation.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Comply with on-site health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver to RDCs, distribution centres and retail stores across the region.
• Store collections for delivery to factories and distribution centres.
• Occasional loading and unloading of cages as part of store delivery activities.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and transport documentation.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism.
• Work with Transport Team to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and Tachograph legislation.

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering to RDCs, distribution centres and retail stores across the region
• Store collections for delivery to factories and distribution centres
• Occasional loading and unloading of cages as part of store delivery activities
• Completing daily vehicle checks and transport documentation
• Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism
• Working closely with the Transport Team to ensure efficient service delivery
• Adhering to Drivers\' Hours, Working Time Directive and Tachograph legislation at all times

Pay Rates

Day Shift Rates

• Monday to Friday Days - £14.60 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Days - £17.60 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour

Plus

• £5 tax-free meal allowance per shift

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver\'s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
