Job summary

Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our operation at Morrisons RDC in Bridgwater. You will support general haulage with curtainside trailers, delivering to Distribution Centres and stores, with a focus on safety and customer service.

We offer full-time roles with day and night shifts across 5 from 7, overtime rates up to £32.49 per hour and progressive pay scales. Benefits include paid holidays, uniform and PPE, and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence with up to 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC & Tachograph cards held and valid.
• Understanding of Drivers' Hours and WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage using curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores.
• Collections from stores for delivery back into distribution centres.
• Support operational requirements, including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and documentation.

Increase Your Earnings with Overtime Rates of Up To £32.49 Per Hour

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our operations at Morrisons RDC in Bridgwater to support our General Haulage operations. This role is ideal for a driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full-time and permanent, with opportunities available across both Days and Nights.

Current shift patterns include:

• Day and Night shifts available
• Flexible start times across the week
• Working any 5 from 7 days
• Weekend working may be required in line with business demand

Pay Rates

We have recently increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £18.05 to £32.49 per hour, depending on shift and overtime, giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

Base Rates

• Monday to Friday Days: £18.05 per hour
• Monday to Friday Nights: £21.66 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Days: £19.86 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Nights: £23.47 per hour

Overtime Rates

• Monday to Friday Days: £27.08 per hour
• Monday to Friday Nights: £30.69 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Days: £28.88 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Nights: £32.49 per hour

Driver Responsibilities

• General Haulage using curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Collections from stores for delivery back into Distribution Centres
• Supporting general operational requirements, including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading of cages
• Trunking opportunities available, subject to operational requirements
• Completing all vehicle safety checks and associated documentation
• Maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Adhering to Drivers' Hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
