Job summary

HG Recruitment is seeking reliable HGV Class 1 drivers for immediate starts in Banbury, Oxfordshire. You'll be moving bread between bakeries and depots, with 12-hour shifts and 4 on/2 off patterns, day and night roles available.

Applicants must have a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, and no more than 6 points. Experience and knowledge of drivers’ hours rules are essential.

Qualifications

• UK HGV Class 1 licence required.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Intercompany movements – moving bread between bakeries and depots.
• Morning drivers: 4 on 2 off, 0700–0900, 12-hour shifts.
• PM drivers: midnight start, 12-hour shifts, 4 on 2 off.
• Occasional manual handling of plastic trays; not heavy work.
• Regular / ongoing work.

Pay Rates: Holiday Accrued

• Days £18.00 - £38.53
• Nights £20.00 - £45.81
• Weekend if applicable £22.00 - £30.62
• Overtime £18.00-£23.02

***Estimated weekly pay £1200 based on 55 hrs night shift***

The role

• Intercompany movements- moving bread between bakeries and depots and collecting empties.
• morning drivers able to commit to 4 on 2 off rotating shift between 0700 & 0900- 12-hour shifts,
• PM drivers can commit to midnight start time – 12 hour shifts 4 on 2 off.
• Occasional manuel handling of plastic trays on wheels, loading and unloading product- not heavy work.
• Regular / ongoing work

Requirements

• A valid UK HGV Class 1 licence
• A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than 6 points on your licence
• Minimum 12 months driving experience on Class 1
• Good knowledge of drivers’ hours and Working Time rules
• A reliable and professional approach
