Job summary

Workchain is seeking reliable Class 1 Day Drivers for full-time, permanent roles in Central Derby. You will operate Class 1 HGVs, complete local/regional deliveries with punctual, safe driving, and handle delivery paperwork.

A strong focus on customer service and regulatory compliance is essential. We offer a competitive salary based on experience, consistent early starts at 6:00 AM, full training, a pension scheme, and a modern fleet.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 HGV (C+E) licence and Driver CPC.
• Digital tachograph card required.
• Good understanding of UK road networks and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Perform local and regional deliveries (no long-haul).
• Ensure deliveries are made on time and to company standards.
• Complete delivery notes and vehicle checks.
• Provide excellent customer service when delivering goods.
• Adhere to traffic regulations and health and safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Perform local and regional deliveries (no long-haul).
• Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in line with company standards.
• Complete all relevant paperwork, including delivery notes and vehicle checks.
• Provide excellent customer service when delivering goods.
• Adhere to traffic regulations and company health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 HGV (C+E) driving license.
• Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not essential.
• A good understanding of UK road networks and safety standards.
• Must have a reliable and punctual work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work early mornings (6:00 AM starts) and occasional overtime if required.
