Job summary

TRC Yorkshire is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers (C+E) for Abergele. Shifts run Mon–Sun with start times between 12:00pm and 9:00pm, offering full‑time, part‑time, or ad‑hoc options. Pay starts at £18.15–£19.15/h on midweek, with overtime rates higher on weekends and bank holidays.

Roles include depot work, customer site deliveries, loading/unloading, and occasional tail‑lift and trailer swaps. Induction on first shift and tacho card download may be required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence; no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexible shifts Mon–Sun with start times 12:00–21:00 (night rates).
• Willingness to travel to local site for tacho download and induction.
• Good communication and a safety‑first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally do trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one‑off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on‑site induction for the first shift.

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry‑leading client based in the Abergele area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shift Schedule
Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad‑hoc).
Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm.

Pay Rate

• Midweek – £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks
• Midweek Overtime (after 8 hours) – £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Saturday – £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks
• Saturday Overtime (after 8 hours) – £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Sunday – £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holidays – £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks

Requirements

• Valid and in‑date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm to 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety‑first mindset.
