Job summary

LME Recruitment is seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 Day Driver for their Southampton operations. You'll work day shifts, Monday to Friday, with no nights out and be home every evening.

You'll perform pre- and post-trip checks, coordinate with the transport office for routes, secure loads, and maintain records. A customer‑facing role with a focus on safety and timely deliveries.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Class 1 driver
• Ability to perform pre/post-trip checks
• Knowledge of road safety regulations
• Comfort with nationwide daytime routes

Responsibilities

• Transport goods nationwide during daytime shifts
• Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle checks
• Coordinate with transport office for route planning and delivery schedules
• Keep accurate logbooks and delivery records
• Secure loads and ensure cargo safety
• Provide friendly customer service at delivery points
• Look after the vehicle inside and out

Payment Details Rate

BASIC Based on up to 55 hours per week (11 Hrs a day)

£14.50 per hour

OVERTIME RATE

Paid for hours worked beyond 11 a day Mon–

Fri £17.50 per hour

MEAL ALLOWANCE

TAX Free £10.00 per day

NIGHT OUT ALLOWANCE
