Job summary

Pivt is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) driver for our Northampton operation. The role involves safe, reliable driving with deliveries and collections to meet SLAs, and strong customer focus across sites.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, 12 hours with a 1-hour unpaid break; start times vary to meet demand. You will handle paperwork, use multiple digital systems and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
• Solid knowledge of UK transport legislation
• Proficient with multiple digital systems
• Flexible start times and workload handling
• High attention to detail in compliance and records
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Capable of working independently and in a team
• Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Experience with variable delivery schedules
• Distribution or trunking experience

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver to provide a safe, reliable and customer-focused driving service from their Northampton operation.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts (including 1-hour unpaid break = 11 hours working time). Various start times to meet delivery and operational demand. Flexibility is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally
• Complete deliveries and collections in line with customer requirements and service level agreements
• Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach at all customer locations
• Adapt to varying start times in response to changing delivery schedules
• Accurately complete all required tasks across multiple digital systems
• Ensure all driving activity complies with regulations and legislation
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately and on time
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, supervisors and site teams
• Comply fully with all Health & Safety policies and site rules
• Participate in toolbox talks, audits and mandatory training as required
