Job summary

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Container Driver to join our client in Warrington, Cheshire. The role offers up to £21.00 per hour with weekly pay and immediate starts.

The job involves trunking depot-to-depot deliveries, operating Category C+E vehicles, and carrying out routine vehicle checks. A valid licence, Driver CPC, and a minimum six months' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) licence and at least six months of C+E driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than six penalty points and no DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99 codes.

Responsibilities

• Complete trunking depot-to-depot deliveries with occasional store deliveries.
• Operate Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections.
• Ensure loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading when required.

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Container Driver to join our well-established client based in Warrington, Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering up to £21.00 per hour with ongoing work and immediate starts available.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £18.00 per hour (Days)
• £19.00 per hour (Nights)
• £21.00 per hour (Weekends)
• Weekly pay

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• AM starts between 04:00 and 06:00
• PM starts between 18:00 and 20:00
• Overtime available on weekends
• Ongoing assignments
• Immediate starts available

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Container Driver are:

• Completing trunking depot-to-depot deliveries with occasional store deliveries
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Container Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A minimum of six months' Category C+E driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No DR10, DG10, IN10, or TT99 endorsement codes
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• A good understanding of UK road traffic legislation
• Strong communication skills

Training:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
• Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
