Job summary

Cleansing Service Group Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team in Prescot. The role involves collecting and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, with safety, compliance and top customer service at the forefront.

Primary duties are Class 1 driving with occasional Class 2 work as needed. A valid HGV/C+E licence, CPC, Digi-card and prior driving experience are required. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and Digi-card.
• Previous HGV driving experience.
• Willingness to undertake both Class 1 and Class 2 work when required.

Responsibilities

• Collect hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class 1 vehicles.
• Provide Class 2 driving cover when required to support operational demands.
• Operate vehicles safely and in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
• Load, unload and handle waste materials, including lifting drums up to 25kg and moving pallets.
• Deliver excellent customer service when attending customer sites.
• Complete all required transport documentation accurately.
• Work closely with the transport depot to ensure efficient service delivery.

Salary: Basic £33,488 per annum.

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time - Monday to Friday (No Weekends)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team. This is a varied role involving the collection and transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

The successful candidate will primarily undertake Class 1 driving duties but will also be required to provide cover for Class 2 work as operational needs require. Flexibility and a willingness to support the wider transport team are essential.

Key Accountabilities:

• Collect hazardous and non-hazardous waste using Class 1 vehicles.
• Provide Class 2 driving cover when required to support operational demands.
• Operate vehicles safely and in line with company procedures and legal requirements.

• Deliver excellent customer service when attending customer sites.
• Complete all required transport documentation accurately.
• Work closely with the transport depot to ensure efficient service delivery.

The Candidate:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Current Driver CPC qualification and Digi-card.
• Previous HGV driving experience.
• Willingness to undertake both Class 1 and Class 2 work when required.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to complete transport paperwork accurately.
• Flexible and dependable approach to work.
• ADR licence desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
• Waste industry experience advantageous but not essential.
