Job summary

Aspire Recruitment is sourcing for HGV Class 1 (CE) and Class 2 (Cat C) drivers to join a long-established family-run meat distribution business. This permanent role involves nationwide meat deliveries, a good level of physical fitness, and a focus on health, safety and customer service standards.

The position offers stability with overtime potential and a competitive salary, regular weekday work, and bonus opportunities. Training and ongoing support are provided for a reliable, dedicated driver.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (CE) or Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV driving experience preferred.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
• Flexible approach to early starts and nationwide routes.
• Excellent understanding of driver hours and transport compliance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Positive attitude and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles on nationwide delivery routes
• Load and unload meat carcass products where required
• Complete deliveries efficiently and in line with scheduled times
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness
• Complete all delivery documentation accurately and on time
• Provide excellent customer service when delivering to customers nationwide
• Adhere to all transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company procedures
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Support the wider transport operation as required
