Job summary
Driver Hire in Cleckheaton is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 and Class 2 drivers for regular, ongoing work from a local depot. The role includes early starts (03:30–07:00), handball/manual handling, store deliveries, and occasional Saturday work.
Successful candidates will complete induction and gain ongoing shifts with a supportive transport team. Regular training is provided, with opportunities for long-term work and immediate starts after induction.
Qualifications
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous HGV driving experience preferred
- Comfortable with early starts
- Willing to work Saturdays
- Comfortable with handball/manual handling
- Professional and reliable approach
- Good customer service skills
- Able to work independently
Responsibilities
- Deliveries to stores and customer locations
- Open and close stores during deliveries
- Complete delivery paperwork and follow delivery procedures
- Carry out daily vehicle checks
- Ensure goods are delivered safely and on time
- Represent the company professionally at customer locations
